Thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. My name is Connor Griffin, and I am a Penn State student in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications. Currently, I serve as a production director and on-air personality for CommRadio, Penn State's premier student-run radio station. My broadcast experience started during my time at Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, SC. Since then, I've gotten the opportunity to be an anchor/reporter, play-by-play broadcaster, podcast host, and intern for my local news' sports department. All of these different experiences are represented in certain parts of this website, along with some non-sports related content to further showcase my on-camera persona. I've also created a page devoted to some of the editorial-style pieces I've written about sports topics --topics I simply did not get the chance to discuss on camera or behind a microphone. Regardless of what you stumble upon on this site, I hope you find it intriguing, as every piece of work I've embedded in this portfolio is content I'm extremely proud of. And I look forward to producing/sharing more in the near future.

"Best Anchor" Honorable Mention / 2017
The Southern Interscholastic Press Association (SIPA) Convention is an event held annually in Columbia, SC, in which high school students from 15 states and the District of Columbia come together to celebrate excellence in student journalism. Each convention is capped off with an awards ceremony to recognize those whose work goes above and beyond the standards of the field. After submitting a show reel of my anchoring on our school news show, I received an Honorable Mention (a 3rd place award) from the SIPA Judges Committee in the "Best Anchor" category.

"Best Podcast" Winner / 2018
At the following year's SIPA Convention, I submitted my sports podcast, 'Connor's Corner', to be considered in the "Best Podcast" category. I ultimately ended up winning Best of Show (a 1st place award), thanks to the SIPA Judges Committee. This award came a year after I won 2nd and 1st place in the same category at SIPA for my work as a basketball play-by-play announcer and co-host of another sports podcast, respectively.

Taco Bell Foundation Live Mas Scholarship Recipient / 2018
As a senior in high school, I came across a scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation that awarded incoming college students for talking about their passions in a video contest. Participants had to create a two-minute video describing their passion, how they express it, and what they plan to do with it in the future. I submitted a video about my passion for sports broadcasting, and I was fortunate enough to receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation in return.
